Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) Under the reforms of the Prime Minister’s Task Force, self-reliance and modernization have been initiated in the Pakistani maritime sector, resulting in significant improvements in port efficiency, trade and cargo movement.
According to private TV channel Express News, the Prime Minister’s Task Force on Maritime Reforms identified 99 actionable reform measures to improve port operations, out of which 85 measures have been completed.
By increasing self-reliance in the dredging process, the ability to maintain the required depth of the ports has been achieved, while plans have also been made to further expand the dredging capacity to improve ship traffic and cargo flow.
